Senior IT System Admin

The Sr. IT System Admin is responsible for managing the company’s enterprise systems including cloud services, cloud infrastructure and networks, workstations, servers, system management and business applications.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the IT department’s operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
- Manage and maintain the Company’s networks and cloud infrastructure including, but not limited to the following: planning, installing, configuring, and supporting computer hardware and software for all networking, server and desktop environment, and business systems.
- Manage 24/7 critical production support applications.
- Coordinate daily support issues of various sites to ensure systems are operational with high degree of reliability.
- Manage and maintain documented inventory of software licenses, inventory of computers and other hardware, network, system and network backup procedures, and any other IT processes.
- Implement appropriate technology to proactively monitor and protect the IT infrastructure
- Monitor security of all technology, including network account passwords and maintenance of IP addresses.
- Perform basic and advanced system maintenance, repairs, backups, software patches, and upgrades and ensure releases stay current.
- Establish and implement processes and procedures to keep the computing and networking systems running in excellent condition.
- Inform business units of current and future IT activities and projects so that they have a clear understanding of IT plans.
- Research current and potential resources and services. Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive recommendations.
- Manage IT staff, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, and evaluation.
- Troubleshoot and provide effective technical support for all technology issues.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, or equivalent.
- MCSA, CompTIA Linux+, CCNA Certification is a plus.
- 5 + years of progressive IT experience with at least 1 year of management experience.
- Must have solid understanding of Windows OS, Active Directory, Terminal Servers, SQL, Office365, and distributed computing client-server, network-wide file system concepts (NFS,NIS), DNS/WINS/DHCP, Gateway/firewalls, LAN/WAN (TCP/IP, routing etc.), VMware, Docker / Kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of Azure / AWS / GCP cloud environment is a plus.
- Requires strong technical knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, protocols, standards, and best practices, as well as desktop technologies such as Terminal Services, Desktops, and Laptops.
- Must be able to communicate, partner, and provide technical support to the cross functional teams
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with little supervision, possessing excellent interpersonal skills, working effectively with vendors and various levels of employees.
